The APRIL Group Purchases a Major Interest in Origami, India’s Top Consumer Tissue Products Company

In May 2024, APRIL Group, a leading global producer of fiber, pulp, and paper, acquired a controlling stake in Origami, India’s leading consumer tissue products company. This acquisition marks APRIL’s entry into the rapidly growing Indian tissue and personal hygiene market.

Founded in 1995 by Neelam and Manoj Pachisia, Origami is a household name in India, operating fully integrated tissue paper mills and converting plants across multiple locations. The company manufactures a wide range of products, including facial tissues, paper napkins, toilet tissue rolls, kitchen towels, hand towels, and wet wipes under the Origami and affiliated brands.

This acquisition aligns with APRIL’s strategy to expand its global footprint into populous markets, following recent investments in the tissue markets in China, Southeast Asia, and Brazil. By integrating leading local enterprises into its global growth plans, APRIL aims to provide resources to upgrade technology and processes, offering world-class environmentally conscious products at affordable prices.

The partnership is expected to enhance the availability of high-quality, sustainable personal hygiene products in India, leveraging APRIL’s expertise and Origami’s established market presence.
